With the much-anticipated November elections out of the way, it’s time to begin nominating – and then voting for — your favorite local customer service person, large and small business and member of the year for the 2018 Napa Chamber of Commerce January meeting and awards. This sure-to-be sold out event will take place on Friday, Jan. 25 at Silverado Resort and Spa from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Early Bird” individual tickets sold out in just three days after their release, and only about 100 tickets remain (tables included). We’re including signage and a half-page ad in the pricing of our Perimeter...

The Napa Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with our Board of Directors and Government Affairs and Policies Committee, would like to urge voting Napa residents taking part in the November elections to vote “Yes” on County Measure I. Measure I -- along with accompanying Measures D, E, S, F and H (depending on your respective city/town of residence) -- would increase the current Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) by one percent. All money derived from this 1 percent special tax would be designated specifically to provide “Workforce Housing” programs and projects throughout Napa County. If approved in all six jurisdictions, an estimated $5...

Aug 14, 2018 The public is invited to join the Napa Chamber of Commerce and approximately 80 local businesses for the Annual Business Showcase. This year’s event will take place Thursday, Aug. 16 at Silverado Resort and Spa from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, and in addition to engaging with a wide variety of local business vendors promoting an array of goods and services, there will be plenty of great food and wine. There will also be live music provided by Whiskey & Honey, a local cover band whose country playlist includes the likes of Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown and Brad Paisley,...

Jul 10, 2018 Carlos Salazar and Berta Delgado, husband and wife owners of 707 Embroidery Zone since 2007, recently moved into a new space to increase production and accommodate a recent growth in business. The new address is 870 Napa Valley Corporate Way, Suite N., located in the 25-acre business development known as Napa Valley Commons – formerly Napa Corporate Park. The new space has enabled them the opportunity to invest in equipment that will help expand/accommodate new business and increased sales in a much more efficient manner. Stay tuned for the announcement of a collaborative public celebration event with the Chamber and Napa...

Jun 26, 2018 Summer has arrived, and typically that means things would slow down a bit here at the Napa Chamber of Commerce, as vacation plans and summer activities take center stage. With the recent launch of our new napachamber.com website, we’re making an effort to provide tools and opportunities for our members — and the local business community – to remain connected and focused on promoting business via our new and improved communication channels. In lieu of the old monthly newsletter, member news, events and special promotions are being instantly shared via our social media channels. This very simple adjustment has resulted in a meteoric...

May 2, 2017   Please join the Napa Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, May 11 at the Napa Valley Marriott for Coffee and a Q&A with Napa Chief of Police Steve Potter. Topics being discussed by Potter will range from the effects of California’s Proposition 47, the Reduced Penalties Initiative, which reduces the classification of most “non-serious and non-violent property and drug crimes” to homelessness, to why Napa remains one of the safest and best places to live despite a public perception of an uptick in local crime. This event is free to the public, but registration is required to ensure appropriate seating and space. Please go to napachamber.com to...

Apr 17, 2018   It’s no secret that Napa is a very special place to live, work and play and I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to raise a family here. Even with all its so-called “dreaded faults” I hear and read about each and every day, there’s no place I’d rather be. I’ve stated many times before that it is my opportunity to view the Valley from the inside looking out – after becoming the president/CEO of the Chamber — that makes it truly special in my eyes. I know there are plenty of people who feel exactly as I do, yet when...

Apr 3, 2018   Ayesha Curry and her sister-in-law, Sydel Curry, visited Napa this past weekend, enjoying an overnight stay at the Archer Hotel and dinner at Charlie Palmer Steak Napa. Rumors have been floated around that the wife of Golden State Warriors future Hall of Famer Stephen – who’s also a superstar brand in the respective worlds of food and wine, beauty and all things family and parenting – was possibly scouting a future site for her restaurant venture International Smoke (recently announcing a second locale in Houston); or perhaps there’s a Curry wine label on the horizon; or maybe it was...

I applaud the effort of a new local task force — called Rebuild Napa —which was formed to lend a helping hand to those forced to rebuild their homes/lives following the October fires. The group was started by Cherie Lubash, Todd Lubash, Mike Adams and Jenny Gass. They felt it was their calling to assist a community in need following the tragic events – a community they’ve all called home their entire lives. Their goal is to offer trustworthy, vetted lists of local businesses and services to help those needing to rebuild, hopefully reducing the fraudulent and unfair practice/price gouging by out-of-town contractors and...

Kudos to Managing Partner Ken Tesler and team at the Blue Note Napa as they firmly establish themselves as the best nightly live music venue in the Valley, and have become a huge hit among jazz aficionados throughout the Bay Area. Their increasingly popular Tuesday “Locals Night” affair doubles as a showcase for talented local musicians and artists, and a free opportunity for residents to experience the venue, as admission price is waived when showing a local ID. Weekends have hit a great stride in delivering on the club’s promise to “present a blend of the group’s quintessential Greenwich Village jazz club...
