Napa Valley Soccer League
Napa, CA - On March 25, at 7:00 p.m., local sports history will be made. That's when the newest member of the Napa Chamber of Commerce, Napa Valley 1839 FC, kicks off its first-ever, National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) contest. The team will play in the six-team Golden Gate Conference of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), which comprises nearly 100 teams throughout the United States. 1839 represents the year George C. Yount planted the first wine grapes in the Napa Valley.
NV 1839 FC is comprised of the area’s best amateur soccer players who will play six total home games at Memorial Stadium at Napa High School. The schedule will provide a great outlet for youth soccer players and supporters throughout the Valley, as well as an affordable family entertainment option. Single-game ticket prices start as low as $5.00 for children (12 and under) and $10 for adults.
The organization set a goal to “Max Out Memorial” (capacity 6,000) before season's end, while aiming for a faithful regular-season base of approximately 1,000 attendees per game.
“The team and players are generating a lot of social media buzz and there’s an enormous groundswell for soccer right now in the country – and in Napa,” says Arik Housely, co-founder of NV 1839 FC. “The Napa Valley has always had tremendous soccer players, including County Supervisor Alfredo Pedroza, who will be on hand to kick out the first ball on Opening Night.”
NV 1839 FC is now offering one (1) free Napa Valley 1839 tee shirt and two (2) tickets to Opening for any Napa Chamber of Commerce member that schedules a meeting to learn more about season tickets, Corporate Founder memberships and/or sponsorships.
“As a former Board Chair of a local Chamber for more than 10 years, I completely understand the importance and influence of local businesses within our community,” Housley adds. “We want to provide young men with the chance to pursue their dreams of playing soccer, and we’re asking our community for support to help make that happen.”
“I strongly encourage our members to get involved early, and engage, connect, and collaborate with NV 1839 FC," said Napa Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, Travis Stanley. “The Chamber has reserved season tickets and we’re genuinely excited to have NV 1839 FC in Napa.” Stanley added, “Sports has the unique ability to connect with a community that really cannot be described, and over time, that bond ends up getting passed from generation to generation. It’s an amazing phenomena.”
