Don’t Just Predict the Future – Create It!

This past year has probably been one of the more challenging ones in recent memory. Economic factors, indicators and barometers haven’t been quite as helpful as they may have been in the past and predicting the future is difficult. The Chambers of Commerce of the Napa Valley have joined forces to bring the business community a “blueprint for small business” in the upcoming Napa County Economic Outlook for 2009 – to help guide all of us and help us “thrive in the free market.”

Back by popular demand, Senior Vice President for Investment Management and Trust for Mechanic Bank, Brian Pretti, will share his knowledgeable insights into the overall national economy, what the future may hold and how business people today should be planning for tomorrow. His predictions from last year’s Economic Outlook were “right on” and anyone who took his advice last year was prepared for the jump in fuel costs and the decline of the housing market. Don’t miss this chance to hear what Brian forecasts for 2009 and beyond.

David Crane, a Special Advisor to the Governor on Jobe and Economic Growth will bring it down to the state’s level and give us his viewpoints on where our state is going as well as how Napa compares to other counties in California. His overview will be a valuable part of the day’s offerings.

Updates on the cities of Napa Valley, along with hearing about our own economic engine and how its running will be part of the program for the day as well. From American Canyon to Calistoga, each of the cities will be highlighted and we’ll hear from local experts on the wine industry, hospitality and more.

Wrapping up the day will be renowned business and growth expert and INC Magazine; most requested speaker, Steven S. Little. Steven will take aim at the barriers to business success, as well as share The Milkshake Rule, Potato Chip Rule and other irreverent ideas to help your business thrive in this free market.

Visit the Napa Chamber of Commerce at www.napachamber.com, or phone (707) 226-7455. Cost for the event is $99.
