Supreme Court Issues Decision on Meal/Rest Periods in Brinker CaseThe California Supreme Court yesterday
released its long-awaited decision in a case involving employers’
obligations relating to meal and rest breaks.  The California Chamber of Commerce today released its annual list of “job killer” bills calling attention to the negative impact that 23 proposed measures would have on California’s competitiveness and job climate if they were to become law. “Last year, they might have bought 500 (brochures), this year it’s
2,500,” Krieger said. Wineries, in particular, are picking up the pace.
“They are doing more and more marketing,” he said, buying bigger mailing
lists and increasing print quantities.
