Attracting new committee members:
Chal: Has not had any further results
Julia: Is still in conversation with Jill Nelson
Maureen: Is still in conversation with Frye’s (Tilly)
General discussion ensued regarding new approaches too outreach.
Chal suggested just asking for a commitment to open our email and operate as a “virtual” sub-committee source for speakers and topics.
Sherri suggested taking the approach of “… do you want to present?” as speaker solicitation instead of asking to commit to the committee.Ie: Launch an “Advertise Your Expertise” campaign.
Sherri suggested some homework for committee members to research their professional organizations conference websites to look at comparable speaker notes and needs postings.
Sherry forwarded a revised Statement of Benefits for our review. (See attached). A small edit was made. Sherri will forward to Katherine Zimmer to produce business card-sized handouts for use at the Business Expo.
Sherri led an introductory conversation with Bruce covering the BB committee’s purpose and how it interfaces with the EV&SC committee to the Board. Bruce is examining leveraging opportunities for WIB in both committees.
