Debra Dommen | Chair of the Board

DEBRA DOMMEN, Chair of the Board, has been in the wine industry for over 20 years, most recently joining Treasury Wine Estates as their Vice President of Government and Community Relations. Prior to joining Treasury Wine Estates, she was the Executive Director of Winegrowers of Napa County for over 8 years and has also served on the staff of former Assemblymember Pat Wiggins as Senior Consultant to the Assembly Select Committee on California Wine. Debra currently sits on the Board of Napa Valley Hospice and Adult Day Services and is a Leadership Napa Valley Class 17 graduate.
    “My goal for the Napa Chamber of Commerce in the next year is to continue it’s stellar advocacy for the business community and support the continued evolution of Napa as it in turn supports the wine industry in Napa County.”

 


Cherie Knox | Chair Elect

CHERIE KNOX, Chair Elect, is the Branch Manager for Redwood Credit Union in Napa. She has 27 years experience serving the credit union industry; she has served on the North Bay Chapter of the California Credit Union League and is a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley.
    

 


Pamela Gleeson | Treasurer

PAMELA GLEESON, Treasurer, is a financial business consultant. Pamela was most recently the past Chief Financial Officer of Santen Incorporated, an ophthalmic pharmaceutical company. She has held financial positions in various business sectors for over 25 years. She is a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley Class 19, serves on the LNV Board and is immediate past president of Ophthalmic Women Leaders, a nationwide industry networking organization. Pamela is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and resides in Napa with her husband Patrick and their sons Cole and Liam.
     “These are exciting times for the development of Napa County commerce and I look forward to continued participation on the Board to address key issues affecting business growth and sustainability.”

 


Kent Kuhlmann | Vice Chair Resources

KENT KUHLMANN, Vice Chair of Resources, is the owner of Kuhlmann Associates Financial, an independent wealth management firm. Kent manages the financial affairs of a select group of families. Kent has served on numerous Boards in the past and is a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley, Class 21.     
     “I hope to assist the board with my talents and provide the perspective of someone who has visited Napa for many years and now makes his home here. I love this place and I am committed to preserving what makes Napa so special along with meeting the needs for its future.”  

 


Richard Rybicki | Vice Chair Membership

RICHARD RYBICKI, Vice Chair of Membership, is Principal Counsel with Rybicki & Associates / P.C., a management-side labor and employment law firm representing businesses and employers throughout California. He also serves as adjunct faculty at Napa Valley College and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, where he teaches Restaurant and Hospitality Law, and as an Advisory Board member for the Napa Valley Hospitality and Tourism Management Program.
     “I look forward to my second year on the Chamber Board, during which I hope to grow my ability to serve our local community and businesses throughout the Napa Valley.”

 


Ken Frank | Vice Chair Advocacy

KEN FRANK, Vice Chair of Advocacy, is best known as Chef of La Toque Restaurant in The Westin Verasa Napa. In addition, his company owns and operates the entire Food and Beverage department at the Hotel including BANK Café and Bar, the Catering and Banquet spaces and In Room Dining. A self-taught chef, he has been cooking full time since he was in High School and opened the original La Toque on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in 1979. In 1998 He moved La Toque to the Napa Valley because it was where he wanted to live.
     “A vibrant culinary scene is part of what makes Napa Valley so special. My goal in working with the Napa Chamber is to help provide input from my industry’s perspective as it relates to the bigger picture; making Napa a great place to visit, live and do business.”

 


Ryan Gregory | Immediate Past Chair

RYAN GREGORY, Immediate Past Chair, is Vice President of Riechers Spence and Associates. He is Past President of Leadership Napa Valley, the Kiwanis Club of Napa and the Napa Engineers Society; President of Brother Can You Spare a Dime, Chairman of the Board for Community Action Napa Valley and a member of the Downtown Specific Plan Steering Committee. A native of Napa, Gregory has two children.
    “I would like to see a more diverse cross-section of businesses involved in the Board and their decisions. I think the general public needs to be more informed of the hard work that the Chamber does for local business and the community at large.”

Barry Martin 

BARRY MARTIN is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the City of Napa and the Public Information Officer for the Napa River Flood Project. He is a member of the Infrastructure Task Force. Barry is co-founder of Lucky Penny Productions, a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley Class 19 and a member of the LNV Board, President of Kiwanis of Napa, and a member of the California Association of Public Information Officials.
     “My Chamber goal for 2011 is to help keep our eyes on the prize and spirits high as we look forward to great times ahead in the wonderful Napa Valley.”

 


Beth Painter 

BETH PAINTER is owner and principal of Balanced Planning and has worked in Land Use and Planning for more than 25 years. Her firm provides project management for businesses and landowners during the land use entitlement process. Typical projects include winery, land divisions, vineyard development, residential and commercial uses. Balanced Planning works on a variety of projects in Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Sacramento Counties. She served on the Napa County Watershed Task Force and Oversight Committee, Napa County General Plan Steering Committee and currently serves as a Director for the Napa Resource Conservation District and as Board Member of Leadership Napa Valley Foundation. 

 

 


Bill Lockhart 

BILL LOCKHART is a Limited Partner of Edward Jones Investments, counseling Valley families in their financial goals and dreams. Bill’s background is in international telecommunications finance and marketing. He is a longtime contributor to the Chamber Board and radio shows, Sunrise Rotary, and business education in Napa schools.
     “The year ahead challenges us to drive Napa’s business community “renaissance,” advocating a strong business climate, leading the search for growth opportunities, and helping shape the quality of life we all desire. I’m hoping for a great year!”


 


Cathy D'Angelo Holmes 

CATHY D’ANGELO HOLMES is a Commercial Realtor for Coldwell Banker Commercial. Cathy’s business expertise combines her years of experience in the high tech corporate arena and with her knowledge of the local real estate market. She is a Napa native, graduate of Napa High School and graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton where she received a degree in Business Administration. Cathy’s community involvement includes President, Board of Directors of (NEWS) Napa Emergency Women's Services. Appointee to the Napa Downtown Specific Plan. Member of NapaLearns. Cathy resides in Napa with her husband David and their daughter Emma.
     “2011 confronts the business community with challenges and opportunities.  If I can be of assistance please call upon me as your chamber board of director member, together we will define the opportunities that lie ahead for Napa and your busienss.”

CINDY WEBBER is Chief Financial Officer at the Napa Valley Register.

 


Clay Gregory 

CLAY GREGORY is currently the President and CEO of The Napa Valley Destination Council, whose mission is to promote, protect and enhance The Napa Valley’s position as North America’s legendary wine, food and wellness capital. Clay has more than 25 years of marketing and management experience in multiple industries, building consensus and developing outstanding programs with a wide variety of partners across many fields.
   

 


Don Shindle 

DON SHINDLE is General Manager of The Westin Verasa, Napa. Shindle has over thirty years of hospitality expertise, most recently overseeing the pre opening and operations of four new Intrawest Hospitality Management hotels under the Westin brand. Born in Ontario, Canada, Don is a former member of Rotary Club International, Kootenay Rockies Tourism, Tourism Whistler and The Blue Mountain Village Association as well as a former auxiliary member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police since 1993. Don currently sits on the advisory board of the hospitality program of the Napa Valley Community College.
     “As a Napa Chamber board member it is certainly my goal to provide support to a very diverse membership while dealing with a wide variety of community and economic issues.”

 


Edna V. Baehre-Kolovani, Ph.D. 

DR. EDNA V. BAEHRE-KOLOVANI was born in post-war Germany, where she received her education and B.A. at the University of Heidelberg. After emigrating to America in 1972, she completed her M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of New York at Buffalo. Her career path began when she launched a business foreign language curriculum in advancing emerging global economies. By 1988, Dr. Baehre knew she wanted to become an administrative leader of a community college. After significant contributions in her twelve-year tenure as President of Harrisburg Area Community College of central Pennsylvania comprising five campuses, Dr. Baehre was named Napa Valley Community College President in May of 2010.
     “In my involvement with the Napa Chamber Board I hope to bring an awareness of the need for training and workforce development in the high priority occupations of the Napa Valley in order to sustain economic viability.”

 


Gordon Huether 

Napa artist GORDON HUETHER has been creating large-scale public projects, residential commissions and fine art for more than 25 years. During this time his work has been exhibited at museums and galleries across the country and he has received more than 50 public art commissions and more than 150 private commissions. Gordon is very involved in the Napa Valley community, serving with both the Wolff Center and as a Napa City Council member.

 


Jaime Peñaherrera 

JAIME PEÑAHERRERA is Director of Diversity and Community Partnerships at Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Prior to coming to the Queen he worked in the biotech arena for major global companies in a variety of roles including international business, and strategic/tactical marketing and planning roles. He has also launched two successful import companies specializing in Latino artworks and an eco-friendly, palm-based alternative to elephant ivory. He holds an MBA in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MA in government from Harvard University. Peñaherrera immigrated to the United States at the age of 22 from Ecuador and has visited, lived or worked in more than 40 countries.
     “During my early years in Ecuador and later experiences in other nations around the world, I have had ample opportunity to learn how ‘the other half’ lives. This has not provided me with a unique and diverse perspective on life, but it has helped me develop a very strong desire to contribute and help our community. My long involvement in the healthcare industry and my current role with the Napa Chamber continue to offer wonderful opportunities to have a positive impact on our great community.”

John Cardinale 

JOHN CARDINALE has been a local State Farm Insurance Agent for 17 years, helping individuals protect their assets and recover from the unexpected. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Napa Noon Rotary Club, and has served on other boards throughout his career.
     “I am looking forward, as a local business person, to bring what I know in helping the Napa Chamber promote and enhance local business throughout the Napa Valley”

 


Kevin Massie 

KEVIN MASSIE is Owner and President of Napa Ford Lincoln Mercury.

 


Kevin Teague 

KEVIN TEAGUE is an attorney and founding partner of Holman Teague Roche Anglin, LLP, a law firm located in dowtown Napa. Kevin practices land use and environmental law with an emphasis on resort, hotel, winery, commercial, and institutional projects. He advises clients on strategic land and project acquisitions, as well as planning and permitting under local, state and federal regulations. Kevin served on the City of Napa’s Downtown Specific Plan Steering Committee, and has been twice named a Northern California Super Lawyer by Super Lawyer Magazine.

LINDA PARKS is President & CEO of LIXIT Corporation.

 


Patrick Sweeney, Ph.D. 

DR. PATRICK SWEENEY has served as Superintendent of the Napa Valley Unified School District since July, 2010. There are 32 schools with approximately 17,500 students and over 1,800 employees. The operating budget is well over $100 million. Sweeney has served in various positions, such as superintendent, director, and principal in both public and private schools, nationally and internationally.

 


Paul Hicks 

PAUL HICKS is Vice President at Payroll Masters. Paul earned his BS in Management at Keuka College in Upstate NY. He has worked in the payroll service bureau industry since 1992 and joined Payroll Masters in January 1995. Paul is currently responsible for business development, product management, software development and design, HR and labor code compliance and IT infrastructure. He serves on the boards of Bayberry, Inc., the Napa Chamber of Commerce, Hi-Tech Professional Labor Management, the City of Napa Civil Service Commission and is a Past Active Life member of the Active 20-30 Club of Napa.

SCOTT ADAMS is Senior Director, New Technology Development at Comcast Cable.

 


Shawn Milburn 

SHAWN MILBURN is the General Manager of the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa. New to the Napa Valley, but a 4th generation California native, Shawn has been managing hotels throughout California for the last ten years. As a part of the recent ownership change at the Napa Marriott, Shawn will be overseeing a twenty-four month, 6.5 million dollar renovation to that property. He is married with two small children and recently purchased a home in American Canyon.
     “My goal for the next year will be to support the revitalization and renaissance of downtown Napa. I believe it to be essential to the long term success of our city as a viable destination to those in the greater Bay Area and beyond.”

 


Sherry McKillop 

SHERRY McKILLOP is founder and principal of Follow Your Compass, a company focused on team and leadership development. She works with leaders and teams by equipping them to transform the obstacles that stop them from generating outstanding results at work and in life. She assists them to perform with confidence and power by using coaching and training methodologies designed to dramatically increase personal and organizational effectiveness. She is also the national award-winning program director for Leadership Today, the community leadership program in Fairfield and Suisun City. Her professional associations include: the International Coach Federation, the Association of Leadership Professionals, and the Sacramento Coaches Association.

 


Suzanne Shiff 

SUZANNE SHIFF is the Executive Director of Napa Valley Coalition of Nonprofit Agencies (NVCNA). Shecame to NVCNA from the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) where she was the program officer of the Grants Review Committee and also from a rich history in health and human services. At NVV Shiff worked closely with the many nonprofits in the Valley, “I developed deep respect for the incredibly difficult job nonprofit agencies do, and I also knew the [NVCNA] position would put all my skills to use.” 
      "I am thrilled to be on the Board and look forward to linking the more than 500 nonprofits in the County to local businesses and their needs.”
